As we navigate through the unprecedented times that the world is currently faced with our focus can so easily gravitate to despair.

Far too often despair leads His children to become worn down and hopeless, however, there is an amazing solution to everything we face, Jesus Christ, The Lion of Judah.

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.

Paul is challenging believers to withstand being conformed to the world. This includes being concerned about what others may think of you and being pressured to perform and please others.

We as believers are to exalt God above man and care more about what God thinks and what He has asked us to do.

Living through this pandemic has created much fear, anxiety, and turmoil for many believers however this does not have to be this way as we have a roaring Lion that will devour any evil that comes our way.

Deuteronomy 28:7

The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

With this said, how do we turn our focus and attention to Jesus and away from the relentless storm that so many believers are facing?

Prayer

Pondering on my own journey I have come to realise that it is a huge honour and privilege to be able to have an intimate relationship with God our Father. Spending quality and intimate time alone with God is worth more than anything this world could offer us.

Prayer is the answer to many problems and brings us into a two-way relationship with our Father. Prayer is fundamental in us keeping our focus on Jesus. When we do this everything else literally does not seem that big of a giant anymore because we know deep within our spirit that He is for us.

His Truth – The Word

Today we find ourselves in a world where we hear many different opinions coming through different social media platforms. More than ever, we need to meditate on His Word [The Bible] so that we know what sound and accurate teaching are and what is deception.

We get to know who God is, what He likes and dislikes, and know His promises for all His children. By studying The Word, we keep our focus on the Lion of Judah and everything around us in the natural which often seems awful and horrendous begins to diminish and dissipate.

Declaration List

Write down the promises that God has made to you, His child. Each day read and declare these truths and declarations over your family, friends, community, and nation.

Here are some of God’s amazing promises:

Protection

2 Thessalonians 3:3

But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.

Peace

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Provision

Philippians 4:19

And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Perseverance

Galatians 6:9

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.

Strength

Psalm 28:7

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.

Worship

Worship is a sweet sound to the Lord’s ears. How He adores us singing joyful praise onto Him. Bondages and prison walls crumble. All demons flee and tremble and heaven rejoices with us.

Worship brings an atmosphere into our lives that radiate light into the world.

Psalm 99:5

Exalt the Lord our God; worship at his footstool. Holy is He.

May you find the strength and perseverance to finish this race with your eyes focused on Jesus, the Lion of Judah.

Revelation 5:5

Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.
