The Death, Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ!

John 14:6

I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, nobody come to the Father except through Me.

Every year after a long and cold winter we start seeing buds pushing through on trees, daffodils bursting with bright yellow, birds singing, and our days become lighter. There is a sense of people being happier as we eagerly await for warm sunshine. This time of year is significant for Christians all around the world.

Easter is really all about what one Man did for humanity that is truly the most selfless act that has ever been done and will ever be done! Jesus Christ overcame the evil in this world and through Him we as His children have victory over darkness! God is our victory!

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice for humanity, even though He was blameless and perfect. He atoned for each and everyone of our sins and took away all shame, guilt and condemnation to whoever accepts His gift of salvation for eternity.

Jesus gives each person the freedom to choose if they want to accept His free gift of salvation by having faith in Him and by believing in Him!

The Death!

On the day of Calvary Jesus Christ was put to death just as He pre-told His disciples. When you accept Christ as your Saviour and Lord over your life, we too died with Christ when He was crucified! You are a new creation.

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

The Resurrection!

Luke 24:39

Look at My Hands and My Feet, that it is I Myself. Touch Me and see; a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.

Our loving Father raised His Son, Jesus Christ on the third day from the dead, just as Jesus prophesied. When you are a new creation in Christ, you too were raised with Him.

Colossians 3:1-2

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set you minds on things above, not on things that are on the earth.

The Ascension!

Jesus Christ was ascended into heaven on a white cloud in front of eyewitnesses.

The bible tells us that Jesus Christ will be returning the exact same way when He calls His children home. Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and blessed us with His Holy Spirit. What a privilege it is to have the Holy Spirit as our guide and counsellor in our everyday lives.

Acts 1:8

But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.

Let us rejoice and celebrate this Easter with a heart filled with gratitude towards our amazingly gracious Saviour, Jesus [The Lord is salvation].
